Who Should Attend :: This beginners class is ideal for those who want to understand the fundamentals better and gain a good grasp of photography basics. This class is designed for (1) those who have a digital SLR camera but don’t know how to take it off automatic, (2) those who want to know what the next step is after it off the auto setting, (3) for those who want to capture more creative images of their kids, etc and/or (4) hobbyists just looking to take better pictures.

What This Class is NOT :: This is not a class on how to become a PRO photographer. This is not a class on how to start making money with your camera. This is not a workshop with models and live shoots and lecture (my upcoming photo 102:CREATIVE class will have some of that), and this class will NOT cover Photoshop or any post process editing.

What Do You Need to Bring? :: Your digital SLR camera, your manual and any lenses

And now for my disclaimer...

I own and shoot with high end Canon cameras, therefore it’s important to understand that ALL digital cameras are different and will have buttons and functions in different locations. No two camera models are exactly alike, even between the same manufacturer, and all cameras may therefore differ in how the settings are adjusted. I highly recommend you thoroughly read the manual before attending so that you at least know where your aperture (also known as f-stop), shutter speed and ISO buttons are, but I can also help you find those and will work to help you understand their functions better. This class is not designed to train you to use a particular camera, but to help you better understand the fundamentals of photography so that you can adjust your own camera accordingly.
